HydraStack started with a drawer full of almost-right water bottles — and one stubborn question: why should you buy a whole new bottle when only one part of it is wrong?
Everyone has the drawer. The bottle with the perfect straw lid but a body that never fits a cupholder. The insulated one that keeps coffee hot but is too big for the gym. The slim one you love that holds barely two glasses of water. Each bottle is right for one hour of your day and wrong for the rest of it.
We kept asking why bottles are sold as monoliths. Your day is modular — commute, desk, gym, trail — but your bottle isn't. So we started machining threads.
The answer turned out to be almost embarrassingly simple: give every module the same thread pitch. If the lid screws onto the mid, and the mid screws onto the base with the exact same thread, every part becomes swappable. Buy the chamber once. Swap the lid for how you drink. Swap the base for where you're going.
That single decision — one universal thread — is the entire company. Everything else is just good manufacturing.

Three rectangles and a note: "same thread everywhere?" The first prototype was two store-bought bottles and a 3D-printed adapter that leaked heroically.
Seventeen thread profiles later, one sealed on the first try and kept sealing after a thousand swap cycles. That pitch is now cut into every module we make.
The module that proved the system: a rechargeable warming element that threads onto any mid — including the very first chamber we ever machined.
